Chess-Ed is sponsoring the MLK Day Schools-Out Chess Workshop on Monday, January 20th. This workshop will provide high-quality instruction, one-on-one coaching, and supervised playtime, all delivered by our dedicated Chess-Ed staff. They will guide students through opening theory, middle game strategies, tactical combinations, and effective endgame techniques. Students will be grouped according to their skill levels: beginner/novice, intermediate/continuing, and advanced/tournament players. Research shows that chess helps students develop essential life skills such as analytical and critical thinking, goal setting, maintaining focus for extended periods, and making better decisions—skills that contribute to academic success.
