Create your own stool for outdoor plants using cardboard!
(If you want to create a sturdier stool for sitting, follow this same tutorial, just double the base and surface cardboard amount)
Supplies:
- Six sheets of cardboard (or two boxes)
- Scissors
- Marker
- Large plate
- Paint and tape (optional)
Step 1:
Open up your cardboard boxes
Cut 4, 12x12 squares for a plant holder or 6, 20x20 squares for a sitting stool
Step 2:
Cut slits in your boxes so they can fit together
- If you did 12x12 squares, cut a ½ in slit in the middle of each square
- If you have 20x20 squares, cut a 1in slit in the middle of each square
Fit half your squares together facing down, and half facing up with the slit sliding into each other to create an “X” (see the above picture)
Step 3:
Take your large plate and draw circles over the 20in (x4) or 12in (x2) remaining squares
Cute out circles
Attach together with glue or tape
Cute “X” in bottom circle (to attach to the base)
Step 4:
Attach stool top to the “X” shape base
Test with an object or yourself depending on how sturdy you made your stool
Paint if desired!
Send us a photo of your completed project.
